Baby Einstein or Monday Night Football...

I recently purchased a Baby Einstein DVD, "Baby Mozart".  I was not sure that it would work, but once it was on Dylan was in a trance.  She watched the stupid pictures on the screen for the full 27 minutes...that is until she got so excited she gave herself the hiccups.  I placed her in her bouncy chair below the TV.  She had a great view!  I did the dishes, and she watched her little video. (picture on right)
Then last night her chair was still down there and just sat her down in it for a minute to rest my arm, and I noticed that Monday Night Football was just as interesting.  Wait a minute....I changed the channel thinking that maybe it was just the TV, nope! My baby responds to Einstein or Football.  (picture on left) You can imagine that I now look forward to the weekend and know that she is definately 'our' child!

Dress Up. We all do it, and some of us admit it

In between the laundry and cleaning bottles there is some time to kill before the next feeding.  Dress up is always a good time filler and shows you just how much they have grown.  You only have a small window  of opportunity before she gets fussy, so hurry it up!
As a new mom I love that I have a little girl.  The clothes are so cute, but better than that are hats! We absolutely love them...or I should say that I love them.  Dylan is not always sure about them, so I make sure that she's asleep when they go on her head, accept for her fashion shoots at home.  I guess the name of this blog should be "Dylan's Many Hats".

Smiles, rolls, and chatter...

As of today, 12/3/08 she is starting to roll from back to stomach.  She has been able to roll from belly to back for quite a while.  (Since she was 3 weeks old).  I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's true!

Two weeks ago she started blessing us with smiles.  Every morning when she cries around 7:30am, I go in to see this great big smile followed by the changing of a wet diaper.  I guess we would all smile if we were about to get out of wet pants!  Her personality is really starting to develop, and with Bradley and I as her parents, she should turn out to be quite the colorful girl!

Her chatter has also become something that makes my heart melt.  The list of sounds are growing and instead of cries, we have "ahhs" and "hawws".  She also learned how to scream with joy from her boyfriend, Reed.

"Meeps" As of Today...

Dylan is a growing girl, but started out life quite tiny.  I was told that there was something wrong with my placenta, and though we expected her to be small, we never expected 4.2lbs! At first we thought we were going to break her.  The only little sound she would make was a tiny little "Meep", whenever she needed changing or feeding.  This is how I nicknamed her 'Meeps'.

She started growing quite quickly, due to her insatiable appetite! We are blessed to have her here with us, and are excited about our journey as parents, friends, and as a new family.  We look forward to every good time and bad, and most importantly sharing it with our dear friends and family. (Plus her many "Aunties")Enjoy!
